Bridge Bread is a volunteer-driven organization, and we welcome new volunteers. Our opportunities for service are in our retail Bake Shop on Cherokee near Jefferson, our Bridge Bread Truck at farmer’s markets and various events, or one time project based opportunities. We want our (formerly) homeless bakers to get all the hours they can so we don’t need volunteers in the bakery.
At the Bake Shop, volunteer shifts include ringing up sales of our products, serving coffee, and stocking shelves. In addition, many of the people coming into the Bake Shop are at least as interested in our social enterprise and issues of homelessness, poverty, and social justice. So there is ample opportunity to spread the word of ‘Hope in the Baking’ while you create opportunity for the bakers. Volunteer shifts at Bridge Bread on Cherokee typically range from two hours to four hours in length.
Additional opportunities include packing up orders for churches, volunteering on the Bridge Bread truck at farmer’s markets or other events, or participating in a one time group project. Check us out on Volunteer Match to view all of our current volunteer opportunities: Bridge Bread on Volunteer Match.
