Managing Director
A proud Saint Louis native, Mike Heeley brings a wealth of experience in retail management and live music production to his role as Managing Director of Bridge Bread Bakery. Since joining the organization in 2022 after a 13-year career in the thrift industry, Mike has led transformative initiatives that have significantly elevated Bridge Bread’s impact and visibility.
Under his leadership, Bridge Bread opened its Bake Shop at the historic Soulard Farmers Market, dramatically increased kitchen productivity, and introduced innovative new products—including a highly popular line of donuts and “daynuts” (fried Danish pastries). Mike also spearheaded the launch of Bridge Bread’s “Bread & Butter” Galas, expanding the bakery’s community engagement and support.
Committed to social impact, Mike implemented strategic updates to Bridge Bread’s Housing Incentive Plan to better reflect the evolving rental landscape in Saint Louis. He also crafted the messaging for Bridge Bread’s Restorative Employment Program and initiated work on advancing Economic Mobility for program participants.
Outside of work, Mike is a dedicated father of two boys, 11 and 9 years old, who excel in academics and athletics, especially baseball. You’ll often find him coaching or cheering them on from the sidelines of the diamond.
